Job summary

Talented People Solutions in Salfords, Surrey, is seeking a Fleet & Transport Coordinator to join our operations team on a permanent, full-time basis. You will coordinate daily transport operations, work closely with drivers, and maintain vehicle records to ensure efficient deliveries and compliant fleets.

The role requires strong organisation, clear communication with drivers, and a proactive approach to improving route efficiency, health & safety, and operational standards.

Qualifications

• Previous experience within Transport, Fleet, Logistics or Distribution.
• Good understanding of transport operations and vehicle compliance.
• Confident communicating with drivers and coordinating day-to-day transport activities.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Good attention to detail and confident maintaining accurate records and documentation.
• Strong understanding of health & safety within a transport or logistics environment.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced operational environment.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Reliable, proactive and able to work effectively as part of a wider team.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily transport operations, supporting efficient route and driver planning.
• Communicate with drivers throughout the day, ensuring they have all information required to complete their routes.
• Maintain accurate vehicle records, including defects, corrective actions, maintenance and vehicle condition.
• Monitor vehicle safety, security and general presentation.
• Ensure deliveries and collections are completed efficiently and within agreed timescales.
• Process and maintain accurate delivery documentation and POD records.
• Work closely with the wider team to resolve transport, delivery and customer queries.
• Prepare and communicate daily driver briefs, including customer requirements and operational updates.
• Support continuous improvement across transport operations, identifying opportunities to improve route and vehicle efficiency.
• Carry out driver performance assessments and accompany drivers periodically to review health & safety, customer service, efficiency and driving compliance.
• Provide driver cover when required.
• Ensure company vehicles are maintained, compliant and available for operational requirements.

Fleet & Transport Coordinator

Location: Salfods, Surrey

Salary: £31,800 per annum

Hours: Monday to Friday, 6:00am - 3:00pm

Contract: Permanent, Full Time

Talented People Solutions are recruiting on behalf of a well-established distribution business for an experienced Fleet & Transport Coordinator to join their Operations team based in Salfods.

This is a varied, hands-on role combining transport coordination, fleet administration, driver support and day-to-day operational duties. Working closely with the Transport Manager and wider operations team, you'll play an important part in ensuring deliveries run efficiently, vehicles are maintained to a high standard and drivers have everything they need to complete their daily routes successfully.

This would be a great opportunity for someone with previous experience within transport, fleet or logistics who enjoys a busy operational environment and is confident communicating with drivers and coordinating multiple priorities.
