Job summary

Midlothian Council is seeking a Team Leader - Fleet and Plant based at Bonnyrigg Depot Workshop. The role focuses on fleet compliance, vehicle maintenance standards and governance across the Council's fleet and plant operations.

The successful candidate will supervise workshop staff, liaise with drivers and managers, and ensure records and processes meet regulatory requirements. The role supports CPC development and career progression where appropriate.

Qualifications

• Experience of staff supervision.
• Experience with IT systems in an office environment.
• Project management and financial responsibility.
• Commitment to continuing professional development.
• SCQF Level 7 / HNC level or equivalent qualification or significant relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Focus on fleet compliance and governance, ensuring records and systems are in place to support legal and operational responsibilities.
• Manage vehicle maintenance compliance, inspection and servicing arrangements, defect management, and operator licence requirements.
• Provide operational management and support across the Fleet and Plant Workshops, including workload, staff, vehicle maintenance and priorities in the absence of the other Team Leader.
• Work with workshop staff, drivers, managers, operational services, contractors and external suppliers.
