Job summary

Mansfield District Council is recruiting a Fleet and Maintenance Assistant Manager to lead the vehicle maintenance workshop at Hermitage Lane Depot. The role is full time and permanent, with a salary of £46,579 - £50,908 per annum.

You will manage the full lifecycle of fleet assets, oversee regulatory compliance, budget monitoring, DVLA checks, and the Council’s move toward a greener fleet, including on-call duties and occasional out-of-hours work.

Qualifications

• Requires Level 6 qualification or Level 5 with equivalent experience.
• Certificate of Professional Competence and MOT Engineers Management Qualification for Class IV & VII required or willing to complete within six months.

Responsibilities

• Lead the vehicle maintenance workshop and team.
• Oversee lifecycle management of fleet vehicles and plant.
• Ensure compliance with transport legislation, budgeting, and regulatory requirements.
• Act as Operator Licence holder and authorised MOT examiner.
