Job summary

Omega Resource Group in Cheltenham is seeking an experienced Transport Supervisor to lead daily transport operations, coordinate routes, and ensure safe, compliant delivery and collection of specialist equipment across the UK.

You will manage drivers and subcontractors, monitor vehicle compliance, plan schedules to maximise efficiency, and provide excellent customer service while driving improvements across the fleet.

Qualifications

• Experience in Transport Supervisor or similar role within logistics.
• Strong knowledge of UK transport legislation and fleet operations.
• Experience managing drivers and subcontractors.
• Excellent organisational and planning skills.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily vehicle scheduling and route planning to maximise efficiency and minimise downtime.
• Manage and monitor both employed drivers and subcontracted transport providers, ensuring compliance with policies and legislation.
• Source, assess, and manage subcontracted transport providers to meet service and safety standards.
• Ensure vehicle and driver compliance with health & safety regulations and licensing requirements.
• Coordinate deliveries and collections, meeting customer requirements on time.
• Act as a key contact for customers and resolve transport-related queries.
• Manage vehicle servicing, maintenance, and repair schedules across the fleet.
• Maintain transport records, including driver documentation and fleet performance data.
• Produce reports on fleet utilisation, delivery performance, and subcontractor performance.
• Monitor KPIs, identify trends, and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with senior management on continuous improvement initiatives.
