Job summary

Pollock Scotrans Ltd is recruiting a Fleet Manager for the Bathgate depot. You will oversee the workshop and Fleet management team, ensuring maintenance per manufacturer specs and compliance with standards.

The role requires leadership, P&L awareness, and strong stakeholder engagement to drive cost-efficient fleet operations while maintaining safety and service quality.

Qualifications

• Previous experience of managing a busy workshop is essential.
• Qualified LGV Technician up to Level 3 (Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and repair) is advantageous.
• Commercially aware with P&L accountability.
• Excellent knowledge of the transport industry to include O licences.
• Track record of leading successful change.
• Proven experience in customer relationship management.
• Strong management and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• MS packages to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the running of the workshop and Fleet management team.
• Ensure vehicles and trailers are maintained in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
• Ensure legal compliance in all matters relating to internal fleet maintenance.
• Agree and monitor the performance of external suppliers; manage warranties.
• Review data on RM packages and expiry dates; drive decisions with the business.
• Identify and implement initiatives to reduce RM and damage costs.
• Manage relationships with internal/external customers and suppliers.
• Collaborate with parts suppliers to optimise fleet maintenance costs and availability.
• Ensure health and safety procedures in workshops are followed.

Job Description:

We are currently recruiting for a Fleet Manager to join our team at the Bathgate depot. This role will oversee the running of the workshop and Fleet management team.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure vehicles and trailers are maintained in accordance with manufacturer's specifications
• Ensure legal compliance in all matters relating to internal fleet maintenance.
• Ensure documentation, communication and adoption of best practices and standardised processes within workshop
• Agree and monitor the performance of external suppliers which carry out maintenance on the company's behalf.
• Review data centrally tracked by the Fleet Administration team on vehicles on R&M packages including fridge maintenance packages for expiry dates / coming out based on mileage and drive decision processes with the business as to what to do once they come out of contract.
• Initiate and manage all warranties in the fleet.
• Identify and implement initiatives to reduce R&M and damage costs.
• Manage the relationship with internal and external customers and Suppliers.
• Work closely with parts suppliers, including OEMs, to review wearing part life and cost to optimise fleet maintenance costs and availability.
• Ensure satisfactory and compliant working conditions and procedures are maintained in all workshops in relation to health and safety legislation*.
• Manage workshop utilisation and productivity whilst also ensuring there is sufficient trained resource to perform required repair maintenance work.
• Conduct full annual PDRs on all reports and review reports on a minimum of quarterly

Requirements
