Job summary

Holman UK is seeking a Maintenance Controller to join our Maintenance Team in Chippenham. This permanent role offers a starting salary around £36,000 per annum with training on site and a hybrid work arrangement after initial in-office training.

Initially, you will travel to Chippenham five days a week for 4–6 months as part of training, then a hybrid schedule (3 days in the office, Tue–Thu) is available. You will manage costs, vendor relationships, and customer cases while ensuring high service

Qualifications

• Technical vehicle related qualifications such as City & Guild or equivalent.
• Detailed knowledge of motor vehicle mechanics, preferably extending to include LCV, HGV and ancillary equipment.
• Qualifications or knowledge around vehicle and equipment compliance requirements.
• Experience working within a similar role or within a workshop or comparable environment.
• Ability to manage difficult conversations effectively and hold conversations at a technical level.

Responsibilities

• Manage costs to keep vehicle downtime to a minimum while ensuring excellent service from fleet vendors.
• Promptly validate authorization requests and ensure correct pricing and labour times.
• Challenge vendors where appropriate and ensure accurate data entry into Holman systems.
• Monitor vehicle downtime and progress work with clear, accurate updates.
• Communicate with customers about authorisations and cost-effective solutions.
• Escalate concerns to the Team Leader and perform ad hoc tasks as needed.
