Job summary

Gregory Distribution Ltd in the United Kingdom is seeking a Fleet Advisor for a 12‑month fixed‑term maternity cover to keep our vehicle fleet safe and compliant. You will coordinate maintenance, manage supplier relationships, and work with drivers and contractors to minimise downtime and keep trucks and trailers road‑ready.

The role requires experience in HGV maintenance, supplier management and cost control, strong communication, and proficient use of Excel/Outlook.

Qualifications

• Experience in HGV maintenance and repairs.
• Experience in supplier management and cost control.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficient in Excel and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Schedule planned maintenance in line with operational needs, ensuring compliance with manufacturer requirements.
• Manage invoice queries, raise and process purchase orders, and allocate costs.
• Handle day-to-day queries related to trucks and trailers; coordinate breakdowns and provide technical assistance.
• Negotiate maintenance costs with suppliers while ensuring safety and legal compliance.
• Source and maintain relationships with qualified maintenance contractors.
• Coordinate roadside breakdown responses and support for vehicles and equipment.
• Provide guidance to drivers on maintenance matters and minimise downtime.
• Deliver technical support to colleagues and customers as needed.
