Job summary

BJS Distribution Storage and Couriers is seeking a Fleet Transport Administrator to support the safe, compliant and efficient operation of the HGV fleet in the UK. You will coordinate maintenance and inspections, monitor driver and vehicle compliance, and keep accurate fleet records while communicating with CIT, planners, drivers, workshops and suppliers.

The role emphasizes organisation, timely updates, and professional liaison across operational teams.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in fleet, transport, logistics or vehicle maintenance coordination is essential.
• Good working knowledge of fleet maintenance planning, transport compliance and statutory vehicle requirements.
• Experience using maintenance planning, fleet management or similar record-keeping systems.
• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise competing deadlines and maintain accurate records.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills, with confidence liaising across operational teams and external providers.
• Good IT skills, including email, spreadsheets and digital record systems.
• A full UK driving licence is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the vehicle, trailer and equipment location register with current location accuracy.
• Check maintenance bookings and amend as needed to reflect location and operations.
• Keep maintenance plan up to date with bookings, dates and actions.
• Plan statutory inspections, MOT tests and tachograph calibrations with minimal disruption.
• Coordinate crane service bookings and maintain records.
• Liaise with workshops and providers to confirm appointments and progress.
