Job summary

United Utilities is seeking a qualified Fleet / HGV Technician to join the Transport Services team. You will service, repair and diagnose HGVs and fleet vehicles in a busy workshop, preparing for MOTs and ensuring safety and compliance.

The role emphasizes a Monday to Friday pattern and mentoring apprentices as part of a collaborative team. The ideal candidate holds an NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair, with hands-on experience on HGVs, tankers, and related plant

Qualifications

• Requires NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair.
• Experience working on HGVs and commercial fleet vehicles.
• Strong fault finding and diagnostics abilities.
• Commitment to safe, high-quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, repairs and diagnostics on HGVs and fleet assets.
• Prepare vehicles for MOT and ensure compliance with standards.
• Support efficient workshop operations and maintain parts stock with suppliers.
