Job summary

Auto Skills UK in Haywards Heath is seeking a Workshop Mechanic to join our busy service team. You will maintain, service and repair a range of heavy vehicles and perform safety inspections to ensure roadworthiness.

You'll work 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday, with overtime available and flexible hours considered. A City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair is required, along with experience with hydraulic systems.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
• Experience maintaining and repairing large vehicle fleets.
• Experience working with specialist hydraulic systems.
• A strong commitment to vehicle safety, compliance and quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

• Carry out vehicle maintenance inspections, servicing and repairs.
• Diagnose faults and complete the necessary repairs.
• Work with the Workshop Supervisor to ensure safety inspections are planned at least six months in advance.
• Ensure all statutory vehicle inspections and obligations are met.
• Complete brake testing as required.
• Conduct post-repair road tests to confirm vehicles are safe and roadworthy.
