Job summary

FedEx is seeking a self-motivated Heavy Goods Vehicle Maintenance Technician based at our Vehicle Maintenance Unit in Durham. You will service and maintain the fleet to keep it safe, legal and reliable.

Working hours are 40 per week, Monday to Friday with rotating shifts 06:00-14:30/14:00-22:30. Base pay is £21.70 per hour with premiums for night hours. FedEx is committed to diversity and inclusion and offers career development and a range of staff benefits.

Qualifications

• Fully skilled with LGV C&E licence and City & Guilds parts 1 & 2.
• Experience in service, inspection records and MOT readiness.
• Ability to lift heavy components and perform basic welding/electrical checks.

Responsibilities

• Complete service and inspection records.
• Prepare vehicles for annual MOT testing to a first-time pass standard.
• Perform ad-hoc vehicle repairs and rectify defects.
• Ensure safe use of tools and maintain housekeeping.
• Carry out other duties as deemed by management.
