Job summary
Stagecoach is seeking an experienced and hands-on Engineering Manager to lead our Kilmarnock depot fleet maintenance team. You will own engineering operations, ensure safety, compliance, and capability in day-to-day activities while shaping the depot's future with EVs and infrastructure.
Based at Kilmarnock Depot, you will manage 84 service buses and 5 training vehicles, oversee plant & building maintenance, and coach staff towards continuous improvement and talent development.
Qualifications
- Engineering experience in bus/coach/rail or related sectors.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Proactive, organised and safety‑first mindset.
- Experience managing compliance, budgets, inventory and health & safety.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of engineers, technicians, cleaners and apprentices to keep fleet safe and road ready.
- Manage maintenance and presentation of 84 service buses and 5 training vehicles.
- Oversee depot plant and building maintenance, including compliance and health & safety.
- Manage day‑to‑day operations, resource planning, stock control and procurement.
- Coach team members and foster continuous improvement and talent planning.
- Collaborate with Engineering Director on regional projects and standards.
