Job summary

Stagecoach Ecclesfield Depot is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a skilled team and oversee fleet maintenance and safety standards. Based at the Ecclesfield Depot, you will drive improvement, manage budgets and ensure DVSA compliance across 55 buses and two training vehicles.

You will shape depot performance, support EV adoption, mentor engineers and collaborate with the Engineering Director on regional fleet strategy and projects.

Qualifications

• Engineering experience in bus, coach, HGV, rail, plant or automotive sectors.
• Proven or aspiring depot leadership experience.
• Proactive, organized and safety-first mindset.
• Experience with compliance, budgets, audits and health & safety.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of engineers, technicians, cleaners and apprentices to keep the fleet safe and reliable.
• Manage maintenance and presentation of 55 service buses and 2 training vehicles, including EV transition.
• Oversee depot plant, workshop equipment and building maintenance with a focus on safety compliance.
• Manage daily operations: resource planning, stock control, procurement and supplier relationships.
• Coach, develop and empower team members for growth.
• Use data and performance insights to drive continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with the Engineering Director on regional projects and fleet strategy.
• Maintain engineering quality in line with DVSA regulations and Stagecoach standards.
