Rolls-Royce invites applications for an Assistant Chief Development Engineer to join the Trent Fleet Development team in Derby. This hybrid, full-time role supports the Chief Development Engineer in leadership, governance and planning across Fleet development activities for in-service engines.

You will lead multidisciplinary teams, drive verification strategies, manage technical risk, and collaborate with Engineering, Programmes, Customer Team and Safety.

Competenze

• Engineering degree or STEM discipline required.
• Excellent communication and influencing capability.
• Experience leading complex technical activities with multiple stakeholders.
• Strong programme and delivery management skills.
• Sound understanding of engine development and certification processes.
• Experience managing technical risk and driving issue resolution.

Mansioni

• Support the Chief Development Engineer in leadership and governance of Fleet Development activities.
• Act as delegate for the Chief Development Engineer when required.
• Lead planning, coordination and delivery of Development Engineering across Fleet programmes.
• Ensure robust verification strategies and development plans meet requirements.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams to resolve complex technical issues affecting fleet performance.
• Drive prioritisation of resources, hardware, test capability and engineering effort.
• Provide technical leadership to Development Engineers and Project Development Engineers.
• Manage technical risk and opportunity throughout programme execution.
• Support product safety, airworthiness and certification per Rolls-Royce processes.
• Develop strong relationships with Engineering, Programmes, Customer Team, Services and external stakeholders.
• Champion continuous improvement and adoption of best practice.
