Job summary

Rolls-Royce is seeking a Development Engineer in Bristol on a hybrid basis (minimum 3 days in the office). You will own development activities including verification and validation across components, bench engines and flight test, ensuring oversight to meet business, customer and regulatory requirements.

The role supports Rolls-Royce Defence programmes, requires strong communication and multi-disciplinary collaboration, and may require Security Check clearance.

Qualifications

• Degree level in Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in relevant domain preferred but not essential.
• Good communication, presentation skills and an ability to work in a multi-disciplinary environment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver verification strategy, structured verification plan and Product Development Plan.
• Be the point of contact with the project to support and coach the team Verification activities, driving V&V behaviours.
• Provide coaching/support to engineering programmes and sub-system teams to plan engine verification and validation tests.
• Manage the creation of substantiation evidence, clearance/acceptance documentation that meets project demands.
• Manage aircraft integration issues necessary to support the programme.
• Run effective Risk Management and Project Gated Review Processes for development packages.
• Develop and communicate the plan for delivering the work on time and remove risks/barriers to the plan.
• Execute and manage Engine Development Plan (EDP) / Product Development Plan (PDP).
• Ensure health data reports from Validation and Verification activities are used to drive the programme schedule.
