Overview

We are looking for a Fleet Controller to be based within the Chery Brand in the Chery Used Cars department, to ensure that all Chery company vehicles are managed effectively and efficiently, within all applicable Chery brands and their responsible departments. To be successful in this position, the Fleet Controller must ensure that all company owned vehicles are accounted for, maintained correctly, and are inspected on a regular basis to ensure compliance with company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) regarding company vehicles. The candidate must have strong attention to detail and a process-oriented approach to their responsibilities. Ultimately, the candidate will ensure that their area of responsibility meets and exceeds the expectations of our business objectives and contributes to the company\'s success in the long run.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Control access to vehicle keys and maintain records of vehicles keys being handed over to authorised personnel.
  • Conduct inspections of vehicles for each handover of a vehicle and maintain complete records of handovers.
  • Coordinate and facilitate effective communication between Chery SA brands, the dealer network, and third-party service providers.
  • Oversee implementation and continuous improvement of fleet management systems.
  • Coordination and planning/actioning vehicle movements for vehicle launches and marketing activities.
  • Managing vehicle lifecycle while in fleet and proactive de-fleeting of fleet vehicles.
  • Monitor, co-ordinate and proactively action vehicle maintenance and repairs during vehicle lifecycle before disposal.
  • Handover of sold de-fleeted units to dealers and direct customers.
  • Identify and escalate any potential risks to senior management.
  • Monthly management reporting on fleet usage.
  • Any additional tasks required by senior management.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years of proven work experience in a similar role.
  • Automotive Industry experience is non-negotiable.
  • Matric.
