Job summary

ScottishPower Ltd. in Glasgow is seeking a Fleet Compliance Engineer to help manage vehicle compliance for a 1,500-vehicle fleet. The role covers DVSA/operator licence compliance, auditing, and field inspections to ensure roadworthiness and safety across the fleet.

The ideal candidate will have prior fleet compliance experience, H&S knowledge, and strong communication skills. Hybrid working is offered, with a competitive benefits package and a salary up to £43,500.

Qualifications

• Experience of managing vehicle compliance for a commercial fleet.
• Operator Licence awareness (e.g. Logistics UK eOLAT).
• Technically qualified in motor vehicle maintenance and repair or equivalent experience.
• Good understanding of health, safety and environmental parameters impacting Fleet management services.
• Strong communications skills.
• Willingness to work outside normal hours and locations as required.

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation of Fleet HS&E controls across the ScottishPower businesses.
• Audit programme development to demonstrate vehicle record compliance with Operator Licence obligations.
• Inspect vehicles (HGV/LCV) to ensure maintenance is safe and compliant.
• Escalate safety or compliance concerns to management/external partners.
• Identify and report fleet risk indicators and trends.
• Educate drivers on reducing vehicle and compliance risk.
• Collaborate with customers to embed auditable fleet processes and policies.
• Support outsourced service providers towards continuous improvement.
