Job summary

ScottishPower HQ in Glasgow is seeking a Fleet Compliance Engineer to support the Lead Operations Manager in ensuring roadworthy fleet of 1,500 vehicles and to uphold DVSA Operator Licence requirements. The role is hybrid and offers a competitive salary with excellent benefits.

You will inspect vehicles, audit maintenance records, and manage safety, policy adherence, and performance standards across internal and external partners. UK-wide scope and a focus on continuous improvement are key.

Qualifications

• Experience in managing vehicle compliance for a commercial fleet.
• Ability to implement health, safety and environmental controls.
• Proven report writing and data analysis skills.

Responsibilities

• Support fleet HS&E controls across ScottishPower businesses and UK-wide audit programme.
• Audit vehicle records to ensure compliance with Operator Licence and statutory obligations.
• Inspect vehicles (HGV and LCV) in the field to verify maintenance work.
• Escalate issues to management and external partners.
• Communicate prohibitions to customers when safety or compliance risks arise.
• Develop escalation processes for management information and risk trends.
• Educate drivers on reducing vehicle and compliance risk.
• Collaborate with outsourced service providers to improve service delivery.
