Job summary

Nationwide Platforms Ltd. is seeking a General Manager for our Bedford depot to lead a flagship operation, steer profitability, and develop leadership across the team.

You will oversee operations, budgeting and customer service for some of the company’s largest clients, driving performance and a culture of accountability. You will manage a multi-department function, working with regional and functional teams to deliver safe and efficient hire services, fleet management and continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading a sizeable depot, ops unit or similar.
• Strong commercial acumen with budgets and performance.
• Experience developing future leaders and driving continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead flagship depot operation and deliver outstanding performance.
• Own depot profitability, budgets and year-on-year improvements.
• Develop and coach department heads to build high-performing teams.
• Ensure cross-department collaboration to meet customer needs and service levels.
• Drive a customer-first culture and align operations with customer expectations.
• Optimize fleet utilisation, resource planning and productivity.
• Use data and KPIs to inform decisions and improve performance.
• Champion process improvements in productivity and service.
