Job summary

Deutsche Post DHL in Northampton (Brackmills) is seeking a First Line Manager to lead a high-performing warehousing team on the NUMS contract. You’ll drive safety, productivity and customer service, delivering targets and continuous improvement in a fast-paced logistics environment.

In this permanent role, you’ll report to senior management, conduct 1-2-1s, manage shifts and develop your team while ensuring adherence to Health & Safety and company procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum experience as First Line Manager/Team Leader/Supervisor.
• Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
• Strong operational knowledge of logistics and warehousing.
• Ability to lead, motivate and coach a team.
• Commitment to health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Directly assist management by reporting on and monitoring the effectiveness of warehousing activities and performance in your designated area.
• To supervise, implement and coordinate productivity by communicating job expectations to direct line reports, ensuring that all deadlines are safely met within allocated time frames, while always maintaining standards of excellence.
• Streamline Processes: Implement innovative strategies to enhance productivity and efficiency in our warehouse.
• Deliver team member performance reviews (1-2-1's), development and/or succession planning as appropriate.
• Ensure shift is managed in line with Health & Safety legislation and company procedures.

Shift patterns: Monday-Friday. Day time hours (09:30-18:00)
Contract Type: Permanent (Full-Time)
