Service Engineer - London & Surrounding Regions

FAFS Fire & Security specializes in designing, installing, commissioning, and servicing automatic Fire Detection, Protection, and Alarm Systems in and around Greater London. We are currently looking to appoint a new Service Engineer specifically covering the London region.

Basic Salary – £42,000 per annum, subject to experience

The role involves servicing fire and associated systems in line with current regulations, liaising with relevant departments, completing all company documentation, working as part of a team to enhance quality and customer service, and supporting the rota schedule for out-of-hours service.

  1. Carry out scheduled routine servicing efficiently and in line with quality standards.
  2. Perform necessary works at customer premises per quality standards.
  3. Support rota schedule for out-of-hours service.
  4. Communicate effectively with customers regarding system and site status.
  5. Provide fire safety information relevant to the site.
  6. Plan work including routine visits, emergency call-outs, and repairs.
  7. Complete paperwork accurately and promptly.
  8. Manage and secure own equipment stock efficiently.
  9. Operate according to client, company, and safety standards.
  10. Suggest system or service improvements to Line Manager.
Requirements
Who We’re Looking For

We value continuous professional development and attributes such as a positive attitude, excellent communication, professionalism, and teamwork. For this role, candidates should also offer:

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role.
  • Understanding of BS5839 Part 1.
  • Knowledge of fire alarm issues and solutions.
  • Basic Electrical Safety training (ECA).
  • Manufacturers training (e.g., VESDA, Radio, Fire Suppression), as decided by the Line Manager.
  • Ability to operate within BN EN ISO 9001:2000 procedures.
  • Preferred experience with Siemens and Gent analogue fire alarm systems.
