Job summary

Ranger Group's Secureshield division is growing and seeks a motivated Small Works Engineer to service TECS, fire and security systems. You’ll deliver small works projects, ensure compliance with British Standards, and provide customer training across site-based installations.

The role includes a fully expensed van, mobile phone and laptop, private health and life insurance, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, paid training and clear progression within a rapidly expanding group.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in fire and security engineering, especially small works.
• Strong technical knowledge across TECS, fire alarms, intruder alarms, CCTV, and access control.
• Solid understanding of BS5839, BS5266, EN50131, and related standards.
• Great organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects confidently.
• Strong communication and client-facing skills.
• IT literacy, including Microsoft Office and project management tools.
• Ability to produce accurate quotes and technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Deliver small works projects from minor installs and upgrades to remedial works.
• Ensuring all work meets British Standards, industry regulations, and company procedures.
• Maintaining excellent health & safety practices across all tasks.
• Commissioning systems, handing them over, and providing customer training.
• Carrying out acceptance testing and quality assurance checks.
• Offering professional, customer-facing support when required.
