Job summary

Framatome UK is seeking a fire safety engineer to support safety, process and systems design coordination for Nuclear Island projects in Bristol. You will characterise materials, perform fire modelling with MAGIC, and advise on protection solutions to prevent outbreaks.

You will work with industry teams, contribute to design changes, and ensure regulatory compliance with UK fire standards. A Master’s degree and nuclear safety experience are preferred, with proactive, collaborative and

Qualifications

• Engineering degree with focus on safety or fire protection.
• Nuclear safety experience, fault studies and fire protection knowledge.
• Familiarity with UK fire regulations (BS9999).
• Ability to perform fire protection calculations and use tools.
• Proactive, collaborative and able to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Characterise and analyse combustible materials and risks.
• Perform temperature-change calculations for fire scenarios using MAGIC software.
• Assess risk to systems and address common mode issues for Nuclear Safety.
• Provide technical support to systems and layout teams on Fire topics.
• Contribute to design changes and assess impact on Fire studies.
• Prepare regulatory assessments for Fire life safety.
