Framatome UK is seeking a fire safety engineer to support safety, process and systems design coordination for Nuclear Island projects in Bristol. You will characterise materials, perform fire modelling with MAGIC, and advise on protection solutions to prevent outbreaks.

What you’ll be doing…
You will be involved in the fire prevention and protection studies and strategies for the Nuclear Island (NI) buildings of both HPC and SZC projects.
As such, your missions will be related to Nuclear Safety and Safety at Work, and you are expected to:
Characterise and analyse various combustible materials present in each area and their risks.
Perform temperature change calculations over time for a simulated fire (modelling of various situations using the MAGIC software) to identify the consequences of a fire and the risk of propagation.
Study the risk of damage to certain systems through detailed analyses to identify and address common mode issues for Nuclear Safety.
Provide Technical support to systems and layout teams for all questions related to Fire, participating in resolving potential issues or infeasibilities
Contribute to potential modifications (Design Change), assessing the potential impact on the Fire studies.
Perform regulatory assessment for fire life safety
Recommend protection solutions to prevent an outbreak of fire or to make it improbable.
Prepare and monitor issuance of deliverable you are responsible for in consistency with the project planning and in accordance with the quality process.
Participate in Committees and Taskforces when required to provide Fire safety perspective and advice and represent the NS&E discipline, when required.
