Job summary
Vulcain Engineering UK is seeking a Fire Safety Engineer to support delivery of complex nuclear and highly regulated infrastructure projects. You will apply fire engineering principles to identify and manage risk, develop robust fire protection strategies, and ensure safe, compliant design solutions across project stages.
The role requires UK fire safety knowledge, experience with fire protection calculations, and familiarity with MAGIC software.
Qualifications
- Degree or equivalent practical experience in fire safety engineering.
- Strong knowledge of UK fire safety regulations, BS 9999.
- Experience with fire protection calculations and MAGIC software.
- Nuclear sector experience is highly advantageous.
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities
- Identify and assess fire risks from 3D models and fire load scenarios.
- Perform fire and smoke modelling to inform design decisions.
- Develop fire protection strategies including zoning, detection, and suppression.
- Produce fire safety assessments to support compliant designs.
- Engage with clients, regulators, and stakeholders on fire safety matters.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of fire engineering practices.
