Job summary

Altrad UK, Ireland & Nordics is seeking a Fire Risk Assessor to join the MEHA Fire Safety Team on the HPC project. You will manage fire safety across MEHA responsibilities, perform risk assessments, and support the development of fire safety systems and policies in collaboration with construction and delivery teams.

The role requires Fire Risk Assessor Level 3 or 4 with complex buildings experience; NEBOSH Fire Certificate and IOSH Managing Safety are desirable.

Qualifications

• Fire risk assessor qualifications required (LEVEL 3 or 4).

Responsibilities

• Accountable to MEHA Fire Safety Manager for the performance of key deliverables.
• Promote and support the development of a positive fire safety culture among MEHA employees and stakeholders.
• Intervene where shortfalls in fire safety have been identified and assist in rectification of standards.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of fire safety systems, procedures, and policies.
• Conduct fire safety inspections and develop fire risk assessments with ongoing monitoring for effectiveness.
• Champion continuous improvement in fire safety practices and systems across the construction site.
• Using Fieldview, ensure fire risk assessments are produced in a timely manner for MEHA areas of responsibility.
• Maintain fire risk assessments to ensure they are suitable and sufficient for the works being undertaken.
• Cooperate with other contractor’s fire risk assessors to coordinate approach.
• Develop and maintain an understanding of NNB site processes to ensure guidance is compliant.

Job description

The MEHA Fire Safety Team is responsible for managing Fire Safety in the areas of MEHA responsibility in accordance with the NNB Work Authorisation procedure and contributes to the overall fire safety on HPC. The team ensures that fire safety standards are established, consistently met, and maintained throughout the lifecycle of the project. This is achieved through close collaboration with MEHA construction and delivery teams, as well as other site contractors.

Key Deliverables

Key Requirements / Qualifications

• Fire Risk Assessor Level 3 or Level 4 with Complex Buildings experience (level 4 required by Q2 2026).

• NEBOSH Fire Certificate
• Diploma in Fire Safety Lv4 (Fire Inspector)
• IOSH Managing Safety
• Previous experience of fire safety in the construction industry or other high risk/complex environments.
