Jensen Hughes in Manchester is seeking an experienced Fire Engineer to deliver expert fire engineering consultancy across commercial, residential and healthcare projects. You will ensure compliance with UK fire safety legislation and building regulations, contributing to high-profile developments.

Qualifications

• Background in fire engineering, preferably within a consultancy environment.
• Degree in Fire Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience preparing fire strategies and technical reports.
• Understanding UK fire safety legislation and building regulations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver fire engineering strategies for new and existing buildings.
• Undertake fire safety assessments and analyse building designs against regulatory requirements.
• Prepare fire strategy reports, technical specifications, and engineering calculations.
• Conduct evacuation modelling, smoke control analysis, and life safety assessments.
• Provide fire safety advice to architects, developers, contractors, and other stakeholders throughout project lifecycles.
• Review building plans and designs to ensure compliance with Building Regulations, Approved Document B, and relevant British Standards.
• Attend project meetings and collaborate with multidisciplinary design teams.
• Stay informed, and advise, in relation to industry developments, legislation changes, and emerging fire engineering technologies.
