Job summary

Jensen Hughes is seeking a passionate Fire Engineer (External Wall Assessments) to join our market leading UK team with offices in London, Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow or Edinburgh. You will perform critical fire engineering reviews for external wall construction, contributing to the industry-wide improvement of fire life safety for residential buildings post Grenfell.

You will collaborate across offices, deliver high-quality reports, undertake on-site surveys, and help develop fire

Qualifications

Knowledge of facades and building envelope systems and interfaces.
Ability to read architectural drawings and specifications for external walls.
Experience writing technical reports with engineering judgment.
Understanding of fire safety design legislation and guidance (e.g. Building Regulations, PAS 9980)

Responsibilities

Reviews architectural drawings for external wall design related to fire life safety and compliance.
On-site inspections of external wall construction for compliance with design and Building Regulations.
Intrusive surveys to verify external wall construction of existing buildings.
Risk-based assessment of external wall construction following PAS 9980 methodology.
Produce clear, comprehensive reports outlining assessments and findings.
