Job summary

Jensen Hughes in Manchester is seeking a Technical Director to lead our fire engineering team, delivering world-class life safety solutions for diverse clients. You will drive excellence across projects, mentor engineers, and collaborate with industry leaders to address complex safety challenges.

The role requires a strong background in fire engineering, preferably within a consultancy, with a degree in Fire Engineering or Mechanical Engineering and Chartered status or progress toward it.

Qualifications

• Background in fire engineering, preferably consultancy.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Fire Engineering or related field.
• Chartered Engineer or actively working towards chartered status.
• Ability to work independently and manage projects.
• Mentor junior professionals and lead teams.

Responsibilities

• Stay updated on fire engineering best practices and standards.
• Lead and guide engineers on large construction projects.
• Manage projects to meet budget and schedule.
• Develop and maintain key client relationships.
• Lead discussions with design teams, building control and fire services.
• Engage in industry events to share knowledge.
• Mentor graduate engineers and integrate them into the team.
