Jensen Hughes in London seeks a talented Technical Director to lead fire safety projects and ensure safety and compliance across built environments. You will collaborate with industry leaders in our Fire & Building Safety team to deliver world-class life safety solutions for diverse clients.

The role offers hybrid working arrangements, mentorship of graduates, and opportunities to shape safety strategies on major construction programs.

Qualifications

• Strong background in fire engineering, preferably within a consultancy environment.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Fire Engineering or related field (Mechanical Engineering).
• Ideally Chartered Engineer or working towards Chartered status.
• Ability to undertake works independently with initiative and self-management.
• Desire and ability to mentor and manage junior professionals.

Responsibilities

• Maintain Professional Awareness: stay updated on technical fire industry matters and provide timely updates.
• Guide Fire Engineering Professionals: deliver complex solutions for large construction projects.
• Project Management: manage current and future projects, meet financial targets, nurture key client relationships.
• Drive Technical Excellence: foster a culture of technical excellence and client engagement.
• Client Liaison: act as primary contact for clients with expert advice.
• Lead Discussions: facilitate design team discussions with building control and fire services.
• Industry Engagement: attend conferences to network and adopt best practices in fire safety engineering.
• Supervise and Train: mentor graduate engineers and integrate them into the team.
