Job summary
Brandon James, an established fire safety consultancy, is seeking an experienced Fire Engineer to join our team across Birmingham and the wider West Midlands. You will produce and review fire strategies, undertake site inspections and fire safety assessments, and advise on means of escape, compartmentation and fire resistance while aligning with Approved Document B and UK building regulations.
We offer a salary of £50,000–£60,000, flexible/hybrid working, professional membership support, CPD,
Qualifications
- Degree in Fire Engineering or closely related discipline
- Experience in fire engineering consultancy
- Knowledge of UK fire safety regulations and fire strategies
- IFE membership or progress towards registration
- Strong written and client-facing communication skills
Responsibilities
- Producing and reviewing fire strategies
- Undertaking site inspections and fire safety assessments
- Providing advice on means of escape, compartmentation and fire resistance
- Reviewing architectural and construction information
- Advising clients, architects, contractors and design teams
- Supporting projects in line with Building Safety Act and current regulations
- Assisting with technical reports and design reviews
