Job summary

BMSL Group Ltd in South Wales seeks an experienced Fire Door Installer to join our refurbishment and building safety projects.

You will install, replace and upgrade fire doors across occupied social housing and public sector properties, ensuring compliance with current standards.

This permanent role offers a daily rate of £250-£300 with a company van, fuel card and healthcare, plus ongoing training and long-term workload.

Qualifications

• Proven experience installing and upgrading fire doors.
• Strong understanding of fire door compliance and passive fire protection principles.
• NVQ Level 2 or above in Carpentry & Joinery, or equivalent trade qualification.
• Valid CSCS Card.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Experience working within occupied properties and live environments.
• Ability to produce work to a consistently high standard with excellent attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Installation and adjustment of fire-rated ironmongery.
• Ensuring all works comply with current fire safety regulations, project specifications and manufacturer guidance.

• Supporting wider building safety, refurbishment and retrofit programmes where required.

Permanent Opportunity

Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured work, we are looking to recruit an experienced Fire Door Installer to join a well-established contractor delivering refurbishment, retrofit, building safety and compliance projects across South Wales.

Working across social housing, residential and public sector properties, you will be responsible for the installation, replacement and upgrading of fire doors as part of wider planned maintenance, refurbishment and fire safety programmes.

The Role

Essential Requirements

Desirable Experience & Qualifications

• FIRAS certification.
• BM TRADA Fire Door Installation qualification.
• Fire Door Inspection or Installation accreditation.
• Experience working on social housing refurbishment, retrofit, planned maintenance or building safety projects.
• Experience carrying out fire stopping and compartmentation works.
• PASMA.
• IPAF.
• Asbestos Awareness.
• Manual Handling.
