Job summary

BMSL Group Ltd is seeking an experienced Fire Door Installer to join our South Wales project teams. The role covers installation, upgrade and maintenance of fire doors within social housing, residential and public sector properties, ensuring compliance with current fire safety standards.

You will work on refurbishment and building safety programmes, carry out quality checks, complete records, and collaborate with wider safety initiatives.

Qualifications

• Proven experience installing and upgrading fire doors.
• Strong understanding of fire door compliance and passive fire protection principles.
• NVQ Level 2 or above in Carpentry & Joinery, or equivalent trade qualification.
• Valid CSCS Card.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Experience working within occupied properties and live environments.
• Ability to produce work to a consistently high standard with excellent attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Install and replace certified fire doorsets.
• Perform fire door upgrade, remediation and maintenance works.
• Install and adjust fire-rated ironmongery.
• Ensure all works comply with current fire safety regulations and project specs.
• Complete installation records and compliance documentation accurately.
• Carry out quality checks and maintain high workmanship standards.
• Work within occupied residential properties, communal areas and public buildings.
• Support wider building safety, refurbishment and retrofit programmes as required.

Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured work, we are looking to recruit an experienced Fire Door Installer to join a well-established contractor delivering refurbishment, retrofit, building safety and compliance projects across South Wales.

Working across social housing, residential and public sector properties, you will be responsible for the installation, replacement and upgrading of fire doors as part of wider planned maintenance, refurbishment and fire safety programmes.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled installer looking for long-term, stable work with a business that has secured projects throughout the region and a strong reputation for delivering high-quality compliance and refurbishment works.

The Role

Essential Requirements

Desirable Experience & Qualifications

• FIRAS certification.
• BM TRADA Fire Door Installation qualification.
• Fire Door Inspection or Installation accreditation.
• Experience working on social housing refurbishment, retrofit, planned maintenance or building safety projects.
• Experience carrying out fire stopping and compartmentation works.
• PASMA.
• IPAF.
• Asbestos Awareness.
• Manual Handling.
