RGB in Kettering is seeking a Fire and Security Technical Services Manager to oversee the engineering operation on a permanent basis. The role reports to senior management and offers a salary of £40,000-£50,000 per year, with Monday to Friday 8:00am-5:00pm.

You will allocate field resources across reactive call-outs, planned servicing and installation projects, coordinate office and field teams, ensure readiness of labour, equipment and stock, and lead the engineering team to deliver work on

Reporting to senior management, the Fire and Security Technical Services Manager in Kettering oversees the engineering operation for a permanent contract paying £40,000-£50,000 annually. Working Monday to Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm, the post-holder allocates field resources across reactive call-outs, planned servicing and installation projects. Key duties include coordinating office and field personnel, managing capacity, resolving scheduling conflicts and confirming labour, equipment and stock are ready before engineers attend site. The successful candidate leads the engineering team, maintains daily organisation and ensures work is delivered within agreed timescales. • Coach and develop engineers, identifying skills gaps and arranging the support needed to maintain technical capability.
• Act as an escalation point for complex technical queries from engineers, customers and office-based colleagues.
• Maintain readiness for NSI inspections by keeping procedures, documentation and working practices accurate and up to date.
• Champion compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements and internal processes across all service and installation activity.
• Manage the delivery of larger or more complex installations, coordinating resources and overseeing progress through to completion.
• Step into a hands-on engineering capacity when additional cover is required during peak workloads, annual leave or absence.
• Build a strong working knowledge of the company’s customers, service offering and operational processes.
• Partner with the surveyor on selected enquiries and opportunities, developing the commercial knowledge needed to assume broader responsibility over time.
• Strengthen customer relationships, recognise additional service needs and contribute to sustainable business growth.
• Work alongside the Directors and wider team on operational improvements and other reasonable activities required to support the business.
