Job summary

Sanctuary in London is seeking a Fire and Security Operative to join our dedicated team. You will carry out routine maintenance, repairs and installation on life safety and security systems across properties in London and the South East, with a company van supplied.

You will cover diverse sites and contribute to safe, compliant environments. The role requires City & Guilds/NVQ3 qualifications and experience in fire and security.

Qualifications

• Requires City & Guilds/NVQ3 qualification and NICEIC Fire/ FIA units.
• Experience in fire and security environments.
• Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation.
• Excellent customer service and communication.
• Full UK driving licence required.

Responsibilities

• Servicing, remedial works and installation of fire alarms and security systems.
• Maintain fire safety equipment and emergency lighting to ensure compliance.
• Resolve issues and inform customers of resolutions.
• Respond to complaints and breakdowns to meet expectations.
• Ensure tools and equipment are maintained and stocked.

Job description

We are recruiting a Fire and Security Operative to join our Fire and Security team, based in London. You will join a dedicated team responsible for carrying out routine maintenance, repairs and installation on life safety and security systems such as Fire Alarms, Emergency Lighting, CCTV, Intruder and Warden Call and door access, ensuring the properties are safe and compliant. This role includes a company van and you will cover different areas across London and the South East region.

The role of Fire and Security Operative will include:

• Carrying out the servicing, remedial works and installation of fire alarms, extinguishers and security systems, including warden call
• Maintaining systems including fire alarms, fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, fire shutters and curtains to ensure safe and compliant properties
• Resolving problems or setting into motion the means of resolution, ensuring customers are kept informed
• Respond positively to complaints and breakdowns in service delivery to meet customer expectations
• Ensuring tools and equipment are maintained in good condition and stocks are replenished as needed

Skills and experiences:

• To ensure full compliance with Building Safety legislation, candidates applying for this role must be qualified to City & Guilds qualification, or NVQ 3 in relevant trade and NICEIC Fire Detection and Fire Alarm Systems or FIA (Fire qual) Unit 1, Unit 5 and Unit 6, BS5839-6, BS5839-1, WBBEC (safe isolation). As part of the interview process, candidates will be required to bring with them the original certification verifying proof of their qualifications. Copies and CSCS cards will not be accepted
• Experience of undertaking a similar role, working in a fire and security environment
• Working knowledge of the application of Health and Safety legislation
• Knowledge of analysing and diagnosing problems and implementing effective solutions
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence
