Job summary

Resourcing Group in the United Kingdom is seeking a Fire and Security Engineer to cover Bristol and the South West region. This field-based role involves frequent travel, some nights away and a company van with expenses paid.

You will service and install fire detection, emergency lighting, intruder, CCTV and access control systems while delivering high standards of health and safety, customer training and clear communication. Overtime is available.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years experience in fire and security industry.
• Full driving licence required.
• Excellent communication skills and customer-facing ability.
• Willingness to travel across Bristol, M4 and South West region, with some nights away.
• Health and safety awareness and adherence to standards.

Responsibilities

• Servicing and maintaining fire detection systems, emergency lighting and portable extinguishers.
• Servicing and maintaining intruder, CCTV and access control systems.
• Work on installation projects across fire and security disciplines.
• Understand customer needs, communicate clearly and respond efficiently.
• Provide training and demonstrations on systems and explain false alarm implications.
• Take responsibility for health and safety and follow British Standards.
• Work independently or as part of a team.
• Provide on-call support and attend out-of-hours calls as per schedule.

Fire and Security Engineer Bristol & South West region

Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 plus overtime, door to door travel and company van.

This is an exciting and varied role for a well-established, dynamic and vibrant company, that will be made up of a mixture of servicing, remedial and installation work.

The role will be field based covering Bristol/M4 and the South West region, so the successful candidate will need to be willing to undertake frequent travel within this region and some working away for which expenses and accommodation will be paid.

Key job responsibilities:

• Servicing and maintaining various fire detection systems, emergency lighting and portable fire extinguishers
• Servicing and maintaining various intruder, CCTV and access control systems.
• Working on large and small installation projects across all fire and security disciplines
• Understanding the requirements of the customer, communicating clearly and reacting efficiently.
• Providing customers with training and demonstrations on systems and educating on the causes and implications of false alarms.
• Taking responsibility for health and safety and adhering to relevant British Standards
• Working proactively and efficiently on your own or as part of a team.
• Providing on call telephone support and attendance of out of hours call outs as per the company standby schedule.

• IPAF, PASMA, Asbestos Awareness and Working at Height certifications
