Job summary

Resourcing Group is seeking a Fire and Security Engineer to cover Bristol and the South West region. The role is field-based, combining servicing, remedial and installation work, with frequent travel across the region and expenses and accommodation paid when required.

You will service and maintain fire detection, emergency lighting and extinguishers, plus intruder, CCTV and access control systems. The position includes large and small projects, on-call support, and a strong emphasis on health

Qualifications

• Must have 2+ years in fire/security industry.
• Strong knowledge of fire and security systems and manufacturers.
• Excellent communication skills for customer-facing work.

Responsibilities

• Servicing and maintaining fire detection systems, emergency lighting and extinguishers.
• Maintaining intruder, CCTV and access control systems; working on installation projects.
• Travel across Bristol/South West region with expenses and accommodation paid when required.
• Provide on-call support and respond to out-of-hours calls as per standby rota.
• Adhere to health and safety standards and customer training responsibilities.

Fire and Security Engineer Bristol & South West region

Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 plus overtime, door to door travel and company van.

This is an exciting and varied role for a well-established, dynamic and vibrant company, that will be made up of a mixture of servicing, remedial and installation work.

The role will be field based covering Bristol/M4 and the South West region, so the successful candidate will need to be willing to undertake frequent travel within this region and some working away for which expenses and accommodation will be paid.

Key job responsibilities:

• Servicing and maintaining various fire detection systems, emergency lighting and portable fire extinguishers
• Servicing and maintaining various intruder, CCTV and access control systems.
• Working on large and small installation projects across all fire and security disciplines
• Understanding the requirements of the customer, communicating clearly and reacting efficiently.
• Providing customers with training and demonstrations on systems and educating on the causes and implications of false alarms.
• Taking responsibility for health and safety and adhering to relevant British Standards
• Working proactively and efficiently on your own or as part of a team.
• Providing on call telephone support and attendance of out of hours call outs as per the company standby schedule.

Beneficial to the application:

• Knowledge and experience of emergency lighting & extinguisher maintenance
• FIA Foundation Module in Fire Detection and/or Portable Fire Extinguishers
• IPAF, PASMA, Asbestos Awareness and Working at Height certifications
