Job summary

Resourcing Group is seeking a Fire and Security Engineer to cover Bristol and the South West region. The role is field-based, offering £35,000–£40,000 plus overtime, door-to-door travel, and a company van. You will service, remediate and install fire detection, emergency lighting, extinguishers, intruder, CCTV and access control systems, with travel across the region and some away-from-home stays paid.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in fire/security industry.
• Strong communication and customer-facing skills.
• Knowledge of fire and security systems and manufacturers.

Responsibilities

• Servicing and maintaining fire detection systems and emergency lighting.
• Servicing and maintaining portable extinguishers, intruder, CCTV and access control systems.
• Work on installation projects across fire and security disciplines.
• Understand customer requirements and communicate clearly; respond quickly.
• Provide customer training and demos on systems; explain false alarms.
• Adhere to health and safety and British Standards.
• Work independently or as part of a team; be proactive.
• Provide on-call support and attend out-of-hours calls as scheduled.

Fire and Security Engineer Bristol & South West region

Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 plus overtime, door to door travel and company van.

This is an exciting and varied role for a well-established, dynamic and vibrant company, that will be made up of a mixture of servicing, remedial and installation work.

The role will be field based covering Bristol/M4 and the South West region, so the successful candidate will need to be willing to undertake frequent travel within this region and some working away for which expenses and accommodation will be paid.

Key job responsibilities:

• Servicing and maintaining various fire detection systems, emergency lighting and portable fire extinguishers
• Servicing and maintaining various intruder, CCTV and access control systems.
• Working on large and small installation projects across all fire and security disciplines
• Understanding the requirements of the customer, communicating clearly and reacting efficiently.
• Providing customers with training and demonstrations on systems and educating on the causes and implications of false alarms.
• Taking responsibility for health and safety and adhering to relevant British Standards
• Working proactively and efficiently on your own or as part of a team.
• Providing on call telephone support and attendance of out of hours call outs as per the company standby schedule.

Beneficial to the application:

• FIA Foundation Module in Fire Detection and/or Portable Fire Extinguishers
• IPAF, PASMA, Asbestos Awareness and Working at Height certifications
