Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Fire Systems Technician to join our fire protection team. You will install, commission, service and maintain fire alarm and suppression systems across commercial, industrial and residential sites, ensuring compliance with BS 5839 and quality standards.

You will work with Gent, Advanced, Kentec and other leading manufacturers, handle planned maintenance and reactive callouts, and contribute to safe, reliable life-safety systems while delivering excellent customer

Qualifications

• Proven experience within the fire protection industry.
• Strong knowledge of fire alarm systems, servicing and fault finding.
• Good understanding of BS 5839 and relevant industry standards.
• Ability to read technical drawings and system documentation.
• Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, service and maintain fire alarm systems in line with BS 5839.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), fault finding and repairs.
• Programme and configure fire alarm control panels and networked systems.
• Complete upgrades, modifications and remedial works.
• Service, maintain and test gaseous and water mist fire suppression systems.
• Attend reactive call-outs and support commissioning/decommissioning activities.
• Conduct site surveys, technical assessments and provide customer support.
• Ensure all work is completed in line with quality, health & safety and environmental standards.
