Job summary

Approach Personnel Ltd is seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Engineer to join our permanent team in the Nottingham area. You will cover a diverse range of premises including offices, councils, retail, and educational settings, performing fault-finding, servicing, and installation across conventional, addressable, wireless, and specialist systems.

We offer a basic salary of £40,000 with OTE up to £10,000, plus a private pension and access to your own company van and equipment for efficient field

Qualifications

• Good all-round knowledge of fire systems, including Conventional, Addressable, Wireless, and Specialist systems.
• Strong fault-finding, servicing, and installation skills across fire alarm and associated systems.
• Ability to plan and implement routine and demand call visits efficiently.
• Excellent organisational abilities, able to manage own workload, equipment stock, and travel independently.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt and professional emergency service calls, demonstrating technical expertise and problem-solving capabilities.
• Maintain fire systems to current British Standards (BS5839 for Fire Alarms, BS5306 for Extinguishers, BS7671 for Emergency Lighting) and customer requirements.
• Effectively communicate with customers to ensure full understanding of work carried out.
• Manage and secure your own equipment stock efficiently and economically.
