Job summary

Approach Personnel Ltd. is seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Engineer for a permanent position across a variety of premises in the UK.

You will handle fault-finding, servicing, and installation across Conventional, Addressable, Wireless, and Specialist fire systems, while planning routine and demand visits and managing your own workload and stock. The role offers a base salary of £40,000 with an OTE up to £10,000, plus a personal company van and equipment and a private pension.

Qualifications

• Good all-round knowledge of fire systems (Conventional, Addressable, Wireless, Specialist systems).
• Strong fault-finding, servicing and installation skills across fire alarm systems.
• Ability to plan and implement routine and demand call visits efficiently.
• Excellent organisational abilities and ability to manage workload, equipment stock, and travel independently.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt and professional emergency service calls, demonstrating technical expertise and problem-solving capabilities.
• Maintain fire systems to current British Standards (BS5839 for Fire Alarms, BS5306 for Extinguishers, BS7671 for Emergency Lighting) and customer requirements.
• Effectively communicate with customers to ensure full understanding of work carried out.
• Manage and secure your own equipment stock efficiently and economically.
