Job summary

Fawkes and Reece in London is seeking a Finishing Manager on a freelance basis for a prestigious refurb of a listed building converted into a high-end hotel in the West End. Immediate start with project running until May 2028.

You will drive finishing works across plastering, painting, flooring, joinery, tiling, ceilings and final fixtures, coordinating trades to hit the programme and quality standards. You will report to the on-site Project Manager and work alongside another Site Manager.

Qualifications

• SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid at Work are required.
• Experience in finishing works on refurbishment projects preferred.
• Ability to drive production, chase subcontractors, and maintain quality.

Responsibilities

• Managing all finishing works on the project, including plastering, painting, flooring, joinery, tiling, ceilings, and final fixtures.
• Planning and coordinating finishing activities to meet overall project programme.
• Managing subcontractors and specialist trades, ensuring work is completed safely, correctly, on schedule.
• Inspecting completed works and maintaining high standards of quality and workmanship.
• Reviewing drawings, specifications, and schedules to ensure works comply with project requirements.

I've been tasked to find a Finishing Manager for a reputable main contractor on a freelance basis. It is an immediate start and will finish in May 2028.

The project is a refurbishment of a listed building turning an existing building in a high end hotel in the west end. worth circa £30m. You will be expected to drive production, create snag lists, chase sub-contractors to complete tasks.

You'll be reporting to an on site Project Manager and work in alongside another permanently employed Site Manager.
