Job summary

Approach Personnel are currently working with a local construction Main Contractor, who are looking for a Finishing Foreman to join them on a freelance basis for the next 6 months on a project in Scunthorpe.

The ideal individual would have relevant experience in a similar position for a construction main contractor and have relevant tickets.

Qualifications

• Valid in-date CSCS and First Aid tickets.
• SSSTS/SMSTS desirable but not essential.
• Proven Finishing Foreman experience on a construction project.
• Strong health and safety and site procedure knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Supervising finishing trades (carpentry, decorating, flooring, tiling, drylining, ceilings, mastic, final fix M&E).
• Coordinating subcontractors to complete works in sequence and on programme.
• Carrying out regular inspections and identifying defects before snagging.
• Managing snagging and de-snagging, ensuring defects are rectified promptly.
• Enforcing health and safety procedures and site inspections.
• Monitoring workmanship quality to meet specifications and client standards.

The ideal individual would have relevant experience in a similar position for a construction main contractor and have relevant tickets.

Key Requirements

• Valid in-date tickets: CSCS & First Aid
• Ideally but not needed; SSSTS/SMSTS
• Proven Finishing Foreman experience working on a similar construction project.
• Strong health & safety and site procedure knowledge is essential.

Key Duties

• Supervising all finishing trades, including carpentry, decorating, flooring, tiling, drylining, ceilings, mastic, and final fix M&E.
• Coordinating subcontractors to ensure works are completed in the correct sequence and to programme.
• Carrying out regular inspections and identifying defects before formal snagging.
• Managing snagging and de-snagging activities, ensuring defects are rectified promptly.
• Enforcing health and safety procedures, carrying out site inspections, and ensuring compliance with company policies and legislation.
• Monitoring the quality of workmanship and ensuring finishes meet specification, drawings, and client standards.
