Job summary

Carden Park Hotel Ltd in Chester is seeking a passionate Junior Sous Chef to join the fine dining brigade at The Vines Restaurant, a 3 AA Rosette award-winning venue. You will prepare and cook high-quality dishes and support the senior chefs in a busy kitchen.

You will contribute to menu development, uphold food safety, and help manage stock and costs while mentoring junior team members. This is a full-time role with evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Strong culinary skills and experience in fine dining environments.
• Experience in quality hotels, restaurants or high-volume kitchens is essential.
• Ability to lead and develop junior kitchen staff when required.
• Proven calmness under pressure in a busy kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook high-quality dishes to the highest standards.
• Support the Sous Chef and Head Chef in daily kitchen operations.
• Assist with menu development showcasing seasonal ingredients.
• Maintain food hygiene, health and safety, and cleanliness standards.
• Assist with stock control, food cost management and rotation.
• Supervise and develop junior kitchen team members.
• Ensure consistent food quality and presentation in a fast-paced environment.
