Job summary

Mourant is seeking an experienced Financial Reporting Manager to join on a 6-month contract in Jersey. You will deliver reliable financial reporting, consolidate group entities, and provide commercially focused insights to drive business performance.

• Qualified Accountant with accounting experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the Firms' annual consolidated financial statements and the financial statements of individual entities.
• Consolidate monthly and annual group entities with clear reporting and commentary on trends.
• Prepare monthly management accounts including variance analysis and insights.
• Develop management information to support operational and strategic decisions.
• Partner with leaders to provide timely, commercially focused financial support.
• Utilise financial technology to improve working practices.
• Collaborate with the wider Finance team to ensure seamless finance delivery.
• Prepare P+L reports, cashflow forecasts and annual budgets with stakeholders.
• Support board and audit reporting; complete tax computations and returns.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Financial Reporting Manager to join us on a 6-month contract. Working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, you'll use your technical expertise to deliver high-quality financial reporting, build strong stakeholder relationships, and provide commercially focused insights that help drive business performance.

You'll play an important role within our friendly in-house finance team, partnering with leaders across the business to support decision making and help drive future success.

Within our team, you'll be working closely with the Financial Controller and Head of Financial Control, Planning and Analysis, you'll ensure financial information is accurate, timely and meaningful.

About the role

• Preparation of the Firms' annual consolidated financial statements and the financial statements of individual entities


• Monthly and annual consolidation of all group entities, supported by clear reporting, analysis and commentary to support stakeholder understanding of trends and performance


• Preparation of monthly management accounts, including variance analysis, commentary and insights


• Development of management information (MI), providing insight, recommendations and analysis to support operational and strategic decisions


• Active business partnering with partners, senior managers and leaders, ensuring they receive relevant, timely and commercially focused financial support


• Utilise existing, and participate in the effective implementation of, financial technology to generate smarter working practices


• Professionally collaborate with the wider Finance team to ensure seamless finance delivery, supporting the aim of making the Finance team overall easy to do business with


• Working closely with key stakeholders, including leaders and other business services departments to prepare P+L reports, cashflow forecasts and annual budgets


• Supporting board and audit reporting


• Completion of tax computations and returns

About you

• Qualified Accountant, with accounting experience.


• Demonstrable commercial awareness


• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and communicate findings in a clear and engaging way


• Confident building relationships with stakeholders at all levels, with a collaborative and supportive approach


• Experience using a practice management system such as Elite 3e, Viewpoint would be helpful but not essential
