Job summary

Mourant in Jersey seeks a Financial Reporting Manager who combines technical accounting expertise with the ability to build trusted relationships and deliver forward-looking, commercially focused financial insight to key stakeholders.

You will partner with leaders across the business, prepare consolidated statements, monthly management accounts, and MI to support decision making, with close collaboration with the Financial Controller and Head of Financial Control, Planning and Analysis.

Qualifications

• Qualified Accountant with accounting experience.
• Entitled to work in Jersey, Channel Islands.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong stakeholder relationship skills.
• Experience with MI reporting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare annual consolidated financial statements and entity financial statements.
• Consolidate monthly group entities with variance analysis and commentary.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and cashflow insights.
• Develop management information to support operational decisions.
• Collaborate with Finance team and business partners to deliver timely reports.
• Support board and audit reporting; assist with tax computations.

Are you looking for a new challenge in a fast-paced environment? We are looking for a Financial Reporting Manager who combines sound technical expertise with the ability to build trusted relationships and provide forward focussed, commercially aligned financial insight to key stakeholders.

You’ll play an important role within our friendly in-house finance team, partnering with leaders across the business to support decision making and help drive future success.

Within our team, you’ll be working closely with the Financial Controller and Head of Financial Control, Planning and Analysis, you’ll ensure financial information is accurate, timely and meaningful.

About the role

• Preparation of the Firms' annual consolidated financial statements and the financial statements of individual entities
• Monthly and annual consolidation of all group entities, supported by clear reporting, analysis and commentary to support stakeholder understanding of trends and performance
• Preparation of monthly management accounts, including variance analysis, commentary and insights
• Development of management information (MI), providing insight, recommendations and analysis to support operational and strategic decisions
• Active business partnering with partners, senior managers and leaders, ensuring they receive relevant, timely and commercially focused financial support
• Utilise existing, and participate in the effective implementation of, financial technology to generate smarter working practices
• Professionally collaborate with the wider Finance team to ensure seamless finance delivery, supporting the aim of making the Finance team overall easy to do business with
• Working closely with key stakeholders, including leaders and other business services departments to prepare P+L reports, cashflow forecasts and annual budgets
• Supporting board and audit reporting
• Completion of tax computations and returns

About you

• Must hold 'Entitled' or 'Entitled for Work' status in Jersey, Channel Islands
• Qualified Accountant, with accounting experience.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and communicate findings in a clear and engaging way
• Confident building relationships with stakeholders at all levels, with a collaborative and supportive approach
• Experience using a practice management system such as Elite 3e, Viewpoint would be helpful but not essential
