Job summary

Mourant is seeking a Financial Reporting Manager to join our in-house finance team in Jersey. You will partner with leaders across the business to deliver accurate, timely financial insight and robust reporting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare annual consolidated financial statements and per-entity statements.
• Consolidate monthly and annual group entities with analysis and commentary.
• Prepare monthly management accounts with variance analysis and insights.
• Develop MI to support operational and strategic decisions.
• Partner with senior leaders to provide timely, commercially focused financial support.
• Collaborate on implementing financial technology for smarter workflows.
• Prepare P&L, cashflow forecasts, and budgets with stakeholders.
• Support board and audit reporting and tax computations.

Job description

Are you looking for a new challenge in a fast-paced environment? We are looking for a Financial Reporting Manager who combines sound technical expertise with the ability to build trusted relationships and provide forward focussed, commercially aligned financial insight to key stakeholders. You'll play an important role within our friendly in-house finance team, partnering with leaders across the business to support decision making and help drive future success. Within our team, you'll be working closely with the Financial Controller and Head of Financial Control, Planning and Analysis, you'll ensure financial information is accurate, timely and meaningful. About the role

• Preparation of the Firms' annual consolidated financial statements and the financial statements of individual entities
• Monthly and annual consolidation of all group entities, supported by clear reporting, analysis and commentary to support stakeholder understanding of trends and performance
• Preparation of monthly management accounts, including variance analysis, commentary and insights
• Development of management information (MI), providing insight, recommendations and analysis to support operational and strategic decisions
• Active business partnering with partners, senior managers and leaders, ensuring they receive relevant, timely and commercially focused financial support
• Utilise existing, and participate in the effective implementation of, financial technology to generate smarter working practices
• Professionally collaborate with the wider Finance team to ensure seamless finance delivery, supporting the aim of making the Finance team overall easy to do business with
• Working closely with key stakeholders, including leaders and other business services departments to prepare P+L reports, cashflow forecasts and annual budgets
• Supporting board and audit reporting
• Completion of tax computations and returns

About you

• Qualified Accountant, with accounting experience.
• Demonstrable commercial awareness
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and communicate findings in a clear and engaging way
• Confident building relationships with stakeholders at all levels, with a collaborative and supportive approach
• Experience using a practice management system such as Elite 3e, Viewpoint would be helpful but not essential
