Job description

Job Description: Financial Reporting Manager

Location: Bupa Place, Kirkstall Forge, Angel Court

Duration: Secondment: 12 months

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

The role

As Financial Reporting Manager, you will support the Head of Functional Reporting in delivering financial control and reporting for the Functional and Central cost base.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Managing financial controls for reporting and reviewing the central cost base of £250m
  • Ensuring the preparation and completion of central year-end statutory accounts and VAT returns, including supporting documentation, to professional standards
  • Streamlining processes to reduce wastage and applying appropriate controls, including process mapping and documentation using tools like Power BI, Oracle, PeopleSoft
  • Leading, managing, motivating, and supporting a team of 6-7 individuals
  • Regularly reviewing and updating financial statutory reporting and controls, including process mapping and risk register maintenance
  • Ensuring regular balance sheet reconciliations with a risk-based approach
  • Managing financial and board reporting for the Bupa Foundation
  • Overseeing staff training and development
Qualifications and skills
  • Professional accountancy qualification (ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)
  • Experience in financial and statutory accounts reporting
  • Experience with process improvement preferred
  • Solution-oriented, flexible, and pragmatic approach
  • Ability to work under pressure, managing multiple priorities and conflicts
  • Strong people management and leadership skills
