Finance Manager - Europe Reporting

Department: Finance

Location: JD Group Head Office, Bury, Greater Manchester, BL9 8RR

Role Overview:

This position is a key role within the Europe Reporting Team and the overall JD Finance Team. As a Finance Manager, your responsibilities will include producing robust management accounts across multiple countries/companies, with P&L and balance sheet analysis for management review. You will be responsible for the production of statutory accounts in line with local GAAP and managing external audits to completion. The role involves managing a team of two to meet group deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for producing monthly P&Ls and Balance Sheets, understanding variances and trends.
• Producing monthly reporting packs with analysis and commentary, presenting to the Head of International Finance and Retail Team.
• Managing monthly balance sheet reconciliations with sign-off on a monthly and quarterly basis.
• Producing balance sheet and cash flow packs with KPI summaries.
• Reviewing processes including purchase ledger, banking, and trade receivables, ensuring relevant controls are in place.
• Producing reports for the monthly Group Board Pack.
• Handling half-year and year-end provision calculations.
• Managing the region’s submissions for group half-year and year-end statutory reporting.
• Overseeing other statutory reporting, including national statistics and intra-statistics.
• Managing cash flow and forecasting.
• Acting as the key contact for the region with AP, AR, and treasury teams.
• Planning and managing year-end audits.
• Producing annual statutory accounts in line with local GAAPs, including the management report.
• Ensuring annual filing of company accounts.
• Being the main local contact for VAT and Tax submissions, queries, and audits.

Skills/Experience/Knowledge Needed

• CIMA / ACCA / ACA Qualified Accountant.
• Advanced Excel skills; TM1 experience is advantageous but not essential.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Positive, flexible, enthusiastic, and driven attitude.
