About Our Client

Michael Page is supporting an innovative and market-leading European business in hiring a Financial Controller UK&I to report to the European FD for their UK Business, based in Stockport. This is an exciting time for the Group as they have started a finance transformation project, and this new hire will play a key role in it.

Job Description

Reporting to the European FD, you will be responsible for:

• Empowering the accounting teams through developmental support, goal-setting, and mentorship
• Distributing tasks to meet departmental goals, ensuring efficient team operation
• Conducting evaluations and providing constructive feedback for team growth
• Coordinating, preparing, and submitting IFRS monthly, quarterly, and annual financials in accordance with group and local standards for UK & Ireland entities
• Managing external audits and statutory accounts, resolving audit issues as needed
• Overseeing VAT, PAYE, and other tax filings, ensuring timely submissions, and managing payroll interface with HR and payroll providers
• Contributing to the annual UK & Ireland budget process as required

The Successful Applicant

You will need to be:

• An ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified accountant with strong IFRS experience
• Between 10-15 years of finance experience, including 7-10 years in sales-focused industrial finance and at least 5 years in leadership roles
• Proficient with SAP S4HANA; knowledge of HFM/Hyperion is beneficial
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
• Highly attentive to detail with a commitment to accuracy and integrity of financial data

What's on Offer

The package includes:

• Up to £75,000 base salary plus a £6,000 car allowance
